I just couldn't get to grips with it. When we had listening tests the words seemed to be spoken so quickly and run into each other that I just couldn't understand. (I guess those who don't speak English probably have the same difficulties with our language!) I also had a lot of difficulties when it came to translating a written piece into English. How much easier it would have been if I had had someone sitting next to me who was fluent in the language and could translate for me so that I could understand. Yes, I think it is. I think perhaps that is what Solomon is referring to in Ecclesiastes 3:11 when he says God " has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end." (NLT) I also think it's what Paul meant when he wrote the following words to the Philippian believers " I’m torn between two desires: I long to go and be with Christ, which would be far better for me.   24  But for your sakes, it is better that I continue to live."
